do we put some of the blame for the miserable offense on Eddie Murray? With the exception of Omar and Lawton, everybody is hitting below expectations. Eddie certainly has had no effect on Branyan, whom I thought was his pet project.

Branyan seems to have regressed! He was better and more disciplined last May.

I wish Branyan would "air" out the differences he is having with everybody. What exactly is the disagreement over?

For some reason Eddie Murray seems to be bullet-proof and the teflon man.
He doesn't seem to get any blame or criticism from anybody....except maybe us!

Eddie Murray is a HOF'er, a great competitor, and a great player. Get off his back. He is probably the best hitter the Tribe currently employs, which is the point. Shapiro & Co. left the coaches with absolute garbage to work with. This is a very un-talented collection of players, and nobody could do better. The blame lies with the players and Shapiro/Dolan. The players are dogging it, and the management is not providing enough talent. Murray can't anything with this bunch.

OK, then how do you explain the fact that every single regular except Omar is batting well below his career numbers? Some, (Einar, Cabrera, Branyan, Ricky G) are just plain awful this year.
The team B.A. of .238 - 25th in the majors - demands action.

I doubt that Branyan can be helped.
Didn't I just read a quote from him the other day, something like, "Heck, even Ruth and Williams had off days!"? It was that, or something like that.
If this guy thinks he's up there with those guys, then he's not gonna listen to a batting coach.

That doesn't make a great or even a good hitting coach.
Results are coming in daily. Appears he's not a good hitting coach.

I do believe Murray deserves some criticism however I do agree with NYC Jewboy. This is a poor collection of players and it must be very difficult to teach weak hitters to hit. Some are probably laughing at the comment about Murray being the Tribes best hitter. I find it sad because it is probably true.
